Bienvenido a PanaWiki

PanaWiki es el wiki de Panamá Al Aire Libre y es de uso general para todo lo relacionado con nosotros los panameños, en especial con las actividades Al Aire Libre. Este wiki lo instalé el 27 de mayo de 2005 y espero que vaya tomando cuerpo a medida que vayamos contribuyendo su contenido. De paso, en la pestaña de "discussion" de esta página hubo una propuesta de ampliar el marco de referencia de este sitio para incluir todos los países de habla hispana. !Me parece que sería fantástico!

La idea es agregar contenido en las áreas en las que uno tenga conocimiento y desee compartirlo con los demás visitantes. En Ayuda pueden encontrar instrucciones de como agregar contenido. A continuación un bosquejo de las posibles secciones para contribuir:

Orienteering

Las carreras de orientación están comenzando en Panamá y estamos formando un club de orientación para impulsar este deporte. En el 2005 hicimos un calendario y se organizaron varias carreras en los dos lugares para los cuales hemos desarrollado mapas de una escala apropiada (1:5000) para practicar la orientación. Estos dos lugares son Amador y el Parque Omar. Las carreras han tenido buena asistencia y hemos hecho un Calendario 2008. Los corredores del Hash fueron los principales participantes del 2005 y queremos incluir participantes de otros grupos este año.

Aunque habrán quienes duden sobre esta clasificación, el Hash definitivamente es una actividad practicada Al Aire Libre. Nuestro Hash corre todos los lunes en un lugar diferente de la ciudad. La mejor forma de saber cuando es la próxima carrera es suscribiendose a nuestra lista de correo. Todas las semanas te llegará un correo con el lugar de nuestra próxima carrera. De paso, también te llegará toda la basura que producen algunos miembros de la lista, junto con algunos mensajes genuinos.

Trepar Arboles

Si, trepar árboles es un buen pasatiempo y definitivamente es una actividad al aire libre. Creo que es una actividad especialmente apropiada para Panamá por que nuestro material rocoso es muy frágil y no contamos con muchas paredes de granito aptas para escalar. Pero, ¡árboles tenemos por todos lados!

Una de las partes agradables de trepar árboles es poder observar la naturaleza desde una nueva perspectiva. Generalmente observamos la naturaleza desde el suelo, pero el bosque tropical es un elemento multi-nivel con organismos especializados para subsistir en los diferentes estratos que pueden comprender el bosque. Al trepar un árbol tenemos acceso a esos otros niveles, o estratos, disponibles a aves, insectos, y mamíferos que se han adaptado para esos nichos.
